New Delhi: Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha’s relationship had to go through a tough test when a famous actress interfered in the actor’s life. The meeting of Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha was absolutely filmy. The actor first met his future wife at the railway station. The actor told Arbaaz in the chat show ‘The Invincibles’ that he had left home to study acting. When he reached the station with some friends, he saw a beautiful girl sitting on the front seat. The actor said, ‘I was surprised that such a beautiful girl is from Patna. She was crying because of her mother’s scolding. I was also crying after being separated from my mother. Then who had thought that one day he would become a star and get married.
Shatrughan Sinha accepted his mistake
Poonam was married 14 years after Shatrughan Sinha’s first meeting, but the special thing is that just 3 years before the marriage, the conversation between them had stopped. Explaining the reason for this, Shatrughan said, ‘I had stopped the conversation. People believed that another woman had entered my life. It would not be right to talk about this. Maybe it’s my fault somewhere. I wanted to get out of the relationship. The actor then told Poonam that she was too good for him and he would not be able to maintain this relationship.

Shatrughan considers this as his big mistake and says that he got carried away by the intoxication of stardom, which is the natural nature of a human being. The distance between them had increased. Even stopped sending letters to each other, yet Poonam used to keep complete news of Shatrughan. The actors knew this. He says, ‘She used to ask my staff why I was weak and told what to give me for breakfast.’ Even after the breakup with Shatrughan, Poonam did not break the relationship. This was a sign of his true love.
The most difficult time in Poonam Sinha’s life
There was a deep friendship between Shatrughan Sinha and Reena Roy which continued even after the marriage of the actor. Pahlaj Nihalani had said in his memoir that both were deeply emotionally attached. Reena Roy had given Shatrughan Sinha an extension of 8 days and said that if he did not marry her within 8 days, she would marry someone else. It was very difficult for Shatrughan Sinha to do this. Eventually, Reena Roy married Pakistani cricketer Mohsin Khan and moved to Pakistan. Shatrughan, 76, is living a happy life today with his wife, daughter Sonakshi Sinha, sons Luv and Kush.
