A Canadian national has died while climbing Mount Manaslu in Chumnubri Rural Municipality-1 of North Gorkha. Brent Seal, a 37-year-old Canadian, died Tuesday, police said.
When he reached an altitude of about 100 meters above the fourth base camp of Manaslu Himal, he suddenly fell unconscious. “After fainting, Himal Arohan organizer Shankar Kumar Gurung of Tag Nepal Treks Company informed us,” said DSP Prakash Dahal.
His body was airlifted to Kathmandu Teaching Hospital on Wednesday by a Kailash Air helicopter with the help of locals.
He went climbing the mountain with the approval of Snow Horizon Company. Police said that further investigation is underway into the incident.
