Dav Whatmore, the head coach of Nepal’s men’s cricket team, announced his decision to resign on Friday (August 27).
Whatmore stated in a letter to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) that he would prefer to resign from the position after the World Cup qualifiers on September 19.
Whatmore stated in a letter obtained by Times Now that it was a difficult decision for him to make because he was finding it difficult to spend time away from his family during the pandemic.
In December 2020, Whatmore, who led Sri Lanka to victory in the 1996 World Cup in 50-over cricket, was named head coach of Nepal’s national team.
The Australian, who was born in Colombo, has extensive coaching expertise, having previously coached Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Zimbabwe.
