The Ghodaha river bridge at Devdaha in Rupandehi has been washed away due to floods after incessant rains.
Transportation service on the East-West Highway has been disrupted after the bridge collapsed. Vehicles passing through the road section along the bridge are stopped on both sides.
According to the traffic police, the road section of Bardaghat Municipality-10, London bridge-based East-West Highway at Nawalparasi West, Basa, Bhutaha, and Sunwal Municipality-12 at Badera have also been washed away by the floods.
According to the Lumbini State Police Office, Manigram of Tilottama in Rupandehi, Shantinagar, Dhawaha area of Saina Maina, Marchwar, Bhairahawa, and Parasi Bazaar have been submerged due to incessant rains. Similarly, Tinau, Danav, and Rohini coastal areas have also been inundated due to continuous rains.
Police and locals have appealed to remain vigilant saying that the area around Tinau, Kapilvastu, and Wanganga rivers is also at risk due to the rains.
