Nepal Govt to Provide Free internet for 2 years in community campuses

The program of providing free internet in all the community campuses of the country was included through the budget of the Fiscal Year 2077/78. 

With the start of the new fiscal year, the Telecommunication Authority of Nepal (TAN) has decided to move the program forward.

NEA has passed a budget of Rs. 700 million for the program. 

Under this program, the internet will be provided in community campuses as well as community basic schools. 

The internet available in this way can be used for free for up to two years. 

The program was launched under the direction of the then Minister of Communications and Information Technology Parbat Gurung. 

Under Gurung’s direction, in the first phase, NEA had started the process from community schools in eight earthquake-affected districts. 

After the budget is decided, NEA has included in its budget and put forward a plan to provide free internet to all the community campuses of the country.
