Gulab Cyclone: The Meteorological Department has forecast rain across the country today due to the impact of the Gulab Cyclone in the Bay of Bengal.
Although the cyclone did not have much effect in Nepal, the weather is likely to be cloudy and there is a possibility of normal to moderate rainfall across the country.
According to the Meteorological Department, a powerful cyclone named ‘Gulab’ developed from the Bay of Bengal on September 24 and landed in Orissa, India on September 26. As the cyclone is now moving westward as a low-pressure area, its indirect peripheral effect may cause partial to normal weather change in Nepal but heavy rainfall is not likely.
According to meteorologist Raju Pradhanang, moderate rain fell in Chitwan on Tuesday morning due to the same effect. He said that normal to moderate rain is likely in some parts of the country including Kathmandu Valley in the afternoon.
According to the forecast bulletin issued by the Weather Forecast Division at 6 in the morning, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning in some parts of the country tonight.
