Today is National Children’s Day. Various programs are being organized and celebrated across the country.
Nepal ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child on September 14, 1990. Since then, September 14 has been celebrated as National Children’s Day every year.
This year the slogan is ‘Normal or Covid Epidemic: Protection of Child Rights is the Responsibility of All of Us’.
Nepal has been celebrating National Children’s Day on September 14 every year on the occasion of the day Nepal ratified the 1989 Convention on the Rights of the Child and expressed its international commitment to child development, protection of child rights, and child participation.
The provisions of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, national and international commitments, and the implementation of the rights and interests of children guaranteed by Nepal’s constitution and law are top priorities of the Government of Nepal for the protection and promotion of children’s rights and interests.
On the occasion of Children’s Day, high-ranking officials including the President and the Prime Minister have extended best wishes.
