Nepal and Mahanta Thakur to get party registration certificates

The Election Commission is preparing to finalize the registration process of the proposed party Madhav Nepal-led CPN-Ekikrit Samajbadi and the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party led by Mahanta Thakur today.

The commission has called the leaders of both parties for identification today. After general identification, the commission issues a certificate of party registration.

Election Commission spokesperson Raj Kumar Shrestha told Media, “Normally if other things do not stop, it will end after identification.” If we need to understand more, the decision may not come. ‘

Identification is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday. 

Election Commission spokesperson Shrestha said that the names of the leaders mentioned in the party registration application should be identified in person.

According to the ordinance on political parties, for the registration of a new party, 20 percent of the members of the federal parliament or the central committee must be separated. 

Out of the 203 central members of the CPN-UML, Madhav Nepal had submitted the list of 57 central members to the commission for registration. 

Similarly, Thakur has submitted the list of 31 executive members to the commission.
