The idol of Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Jabra has been cremated.
Supporters of Prime Minister KP Oli have cremated a statue of Chief Justice Jabra in Baneshwor.
The Supreme Court had dissolved the parliament and ordered to appoint Sher Bahadur Deuba as the prime minister within 28 hours.
Immediately, CPN-UML youth leader Mahesh Basnet called on the leaders and cadres to take to the streets against the order.
He himself had said that the Supreme Court had done unconstitutional work by standing in the Maitighar Mandal. UML cadres had tried to burn Jabra’s idol even after the order was issued. But the police stopped him.
The cadres who had gathered in Baneshwor in the evening have burnt the idol again. UML leader Subash Nemwang has said that the party will abide by the court’s decision.
But the activists have not stopped the protest.
