Supreme Court has interpreted Article 76 (5) of the Constitution: Prachanda

Prachanda

Chairman of the CPN-Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that ‘Prachanda’ Sher Bahadur Deuba was not appointed by the Supreme Court but by Article 76 (5) of the Constitution.

Stating that the court did not make Deuba the prime minister, he said that the court has interpreted the constitution.

He also expressed outrage over the decision of the outgoing Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to dissolve the parliament.

He said, “Despite having a two-thirds majority, there have been no incidents of dissolving the parliament time and again. Why would I propose an alliance if I knew it would happen? ‘

He said this while replying to UML leader Pradip Gyawali.

He said that the language used by the President’s Office during the swearing-in of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba was objectionable.
