Short-term order not to privatize Nepal Airlines

Nepal Airlines

The Supreme Court has issued a short-term interim order in the name of the government not to proceed with the privatization of Nepal Airlines.

A single bench of Justice Kumar Regmi on Sunday issued a short-term interim order to keep the entire process of privatization of the corporation as it is and not to make any decision on privatization.

Atis Karki had filed a writ petition on behalf of the Nepali Party for the privatization of the corporation.

Hearing the writ petition, the bench of Justice Regmi has summoned both the parties for discussion on July 9 for an interim order to stop the privatization process of the corporation.

Nepal Airlines Corporation has recently started the process of transforming the corporation into a public company.

But it has been opposed.
