A single bench of Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Jabra has issued an interim order not to divert the natural flow of the Kaligandaki River to create reservoirs, pollute it, extract riverine products, smuggle and destroy Shaligram and do nothing against the natural flow and environment.
Environmentalists and legal practitioners had filed a writ petition after the government started moving ahead with the Kaligandaki River Diversion Project.
