CPN-UML Standing Committee meeting is being held today.
Secretary of the UML party office Sher Bahadur Tamang informed that the meeting will be held at 11 am at Tulsi Lal Smriti Bhawan in Chyasal, Lalitpur.
The meeting will discuss the demands of the pro-unity leaders to implement the 10-point agreement, said a leader.
Leaders including Yuvaraj Gyawali, Bhim Acharya, Bhim Rawal, Gokarna Bista, Yogesh Bhattarai, Ghanshyam Bhusal, Surendra Pandey, and Ashtalakshmi Shakya, who did not join the new party led by Madhav Nepal, had given an ultimatum till Monday to implement the 10-point agreement.
UML Chairman Oli has expressed commitment to implement the agreement with the nine standing committee members who left with former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal.
According to the leaders, the standing committee meeting will make a schedule to return the UML to its previous position as per the 10-point agreement.
A task force comprising 5-5 leaders from Oli and the Nepali side had reached a 10-point agreement on July 11 for the internal unity of the party.
But without implementing the agreement, the Nepali leader has applied to the Election Commission for registration of a new party called CPN-U under his chairmanship.
