Renuka Shahane told how her parents’ divorce affected her. He also told that a scene in his Hindi film ‘Tribhanga’ is also inspired by his personal life. ‘Tribhanga’ was his first Hindi film as a director. The film is said to be based on his relationship with his mother, writer Shanta Gokhale. Renuka’s father Vijay Shahane was an officer in the Indian Navy.

In an interview to Pinkvilla, Renuka Shahane said, “Initially, I used to feel that people would judge me because my parents were separated. They used to say ‘Don’t play with them as their parents are separated’. Even the teachers used to think the same. Renuka was earlier married to Marathi theater writer Vijay Kenkare.
Ashutosh Rana is younger than Renuka Shahane
After marriage, there were differences between Vijay and Renuka Shahane regarding the way of working. Renuka said that she was not mature at that time. He learned a lot from his first marriage. Years after their divorce, she fell in love with Ashutosh Rana. Ashutosh is 4 years younger than Renuka. At that time Ashutosh was not a well-known name for Renuka. At the same time, Ashutosh Rana told Renuka in the very first meeting that he is her big fan.
