A woman has died and a girl has gone missing at Shubhane Khola, the confluence of Bagmati Gaonpalika-6 Ashrang and Gimdi No. 7 of South Lalitpur.
A 40-year-old local Sanju Singtan died in the floods on Friday along with incessant rains for the past three days.
According to Ward Chairman of Ward No. 7, Nawaraj Sanjel, Sanju died when the river overflowed at around 4:30 pm on Friday. An eight-year-old girl who was with her has gone missing. The identity of the missing girl has not been revealed yet.
Inspector Rajendra Chhetri of the Metropolitan Police Circle, Chapagaun, said that a police team went to the spot after receiving information about the incident.
