Anand Dev Bhatt, a senior progressive writer and former president of the Progressive Writers’ Association, has passed away.
Bhatt, who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, died at the age of 85 at around 3 am on Monday. He had been staying at the Kalikasthan residence after treatment at the hospital last month.
Bhatta, who has been active in Nepali literature, teaching, and progressive thought for a long time, has published more than two and a half dozen works in the genres of poetry, fragmentary poetry, memoirs, criticism, and essays. His works including ‘Sainlimaiya’, ‘Ama Bolachin’, ’97 Sal ‘,’ Ab Himal Bolchha ‘and’ Janatako Sahitya ‘are especially popular.
Born in Jumla in 1993 BS, Bhatt was also the former president of the Progressive Writers ‘Association and the Progressive Professors’ Association.
His funeral will be done at Pashupati Aryaghat. Dr. Jiveendra Dev Giri informed.
Bhatt has a wife and two sons.
